Martha Painter Mahan

January 28, 1944 ~ June 5, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old
Martha Painter Mahan died peacefully at home in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 5, 2017 at the age of 73. Martha was born to Jack E. Painter and Maeson M. Painter on January 28, 1944.
Martha grew up in Corpus Christi and became one of the best female golfers that the state of Texas has ever produced. She won medalist honors at the Women’s
State Amateur Championship at age 13. At the age of 14 she was featured on the cover of Golf World magazine. She then went on to win medalist honors at the Women’s State Amateur four more times. In 1970 Martha won the Women’s State Amateur Championship on her home turf, CCCC. These are just a few of the many accomplishments Martha achieved during her years of playing amateur golf.
As good as she was at golf, she was an even better mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was the most loving and kindest friend a person could ever hope to have. Her beautiful smile and joyful laugh will never be forgotten by those who had the pleasure of being around Martha. She suited up and showed up for life every day and never had an unkind word to say about others. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
