Obituary

Mary “Sami” Cameron, age 83, passed away on Thursday, November 11th, 2022. She was born on November 15th, 1938, to H. T. and Lucille Bailey in Corpus Christi, TX. Sami was raised in Corpus Christi where she attended W. B. Ray High School. Sami met and married the love of her life, her rock, Frank Cameron, in 1960. They had a wonderful marriage of 61 years.

Mary, affectionately known as “Sami”, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid bridge player; playing up to 3 times a week for the past 20 years. She spent many days with her friends and family enjoying great food and appreciating the time spent at those meals.

Sami enjoyed volunteering. She was the culinary chair for Signature Chefs for 13 years. She was also involved with Beach Ball, CC Beach Association, Seafood Wars, Yuletide and Y Women in Careers. She was one of the founding members of the beach walk at North Beach. She will always be remembered for her love of food and bridge as well as her devotion to her family.

Sami is preceded in death by her mother and father, H.T. and Lucille Bailey; siblings, Spec Bailey and Judee Williams and husband, Frank Cameron.

Sami is survived by her 3 children, Wes Bevly III, Shawn (Gary) Bevly-Groesbeck and Adam Cameron; her two stepchildren, Connie Cameron and Keith Cameron and sister-in-law, Staria Bailey. She was loved and adored by her 6 grandchildren, Wes (Melissa) Bevly IV, Katlin (Billy) Wilson, Bryan Groesbeck, Jonathan Groesbeck, Cody (Darbie) Randall, and Madison (Josh) Partridge and niece Trevre’ (Iggy) Lara; great-grandchildren, Wesley Bevly V, Hudson Bevly, Mason Bevly, Jaxson Bevly, Billy Wilson, Blake Wilson, Blaine Wilson, Bryce Wilson and Reagan Randall, 1 great niece, Brooklyn Williams and 1 great nephew, Briggs Lara.

Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:30am on Friday, November 18th 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Bryan Groesbeck, Iggy Lara, Billy Wilson, Josh Partridge, Cody Randall and Jonathan Groesbeck.
