Mary Clanton

Mary Miller Clanton passed away peacefully on May 19, 2022.  She was born on October 31, 1938, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to John and Hilma Miller. Mary lived in Rio Grande City and Paris, Texas, while her father served in the Army. Mary and her family settled in Sinton, Texas in time for her to start the second grade. She graduated from Sinton High School in 1957. Mary had fond memories of her childhood in Sinton and remained close with her childhood friends throughout her life.

Mary married John Clanton on January 6, 1973. Mary was a long standing member of the First Presbyterian Church and many civic organizations. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Mary will be remembered for her sense of humor, love of life, and her faith in Jesus.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, the Honorable Judge John Miller; her mother, Hilma Miller; her husband, John Clanton, and her brother, John Miller.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, daughter, and her grandchildren.

A Memorial Service planned by her family will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church.
