Mary Ann Flores

Mary Ann Flores, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary Ann was a graduate of Incarnate Word High School and obtained a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Corpus Christi State University. She went on to become a devoted elementary school teacher for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by many.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Stevens Castro, father, Oscar Castro, and her son Ronald Flores.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Anthony Wayne Flores, daughter, Jacqueline (Jackie) Hernandez (Jose), daughter, Denise (DeeDee) Chavira (Robert), brother, Oscar Castro (Hortencia); grandchildren, Ronald Jr. and Amber Flores; Jose Jr., Jesus, James, Jeremiah, and Lily Hernandez; Amanda Chavira-Benavides and Mark Chavira; and 10 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary recited at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church (3350 S. Alameda). Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
