Obituary
Mary G. Garcia, age 103, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Born March 5, 1917 in Goliad, Texas, Mary was the daughter of the late Hilario and Rosa L. Gonzales.
On November 7, 1941, Mary married her beloved husband, Adolfo Garcia, Jr. Sadly he preceded her in death in November of 1988. Mary and Adolfo lived in Woodsboro, Texas, before moving to Utopia, Texas, where they had many friends and beautiful memories.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Corpus. She had an incredible work ethic and enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends. Faith carried her with grace, joy, and gentleness; she was always sharing generously and gave back in every way she could. She was the living example of the Spirit of the Lord in her.
Mary is survived by her son, Robert Garcia (Eladia); daughter, Olivia Lerma (Oscar); Sisters, Aurora Deases and Eva Pompa (Ruben); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony, Jessie, Eulogio, Joe, and Walle; and her sister, Dora Pompa.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 with a Rosary to be recited that same night at 7:00 pm in the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Please meet at church, there will be no procession from the Funeral Home to St. Patrick. Burial to follow Mass at Seaside Memorial Park.
