Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Martin Meyer, age 84, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021.  Mary was born on August 11, 1936 to Barney and Rosemary Simms Martin in Good Hope, LA.  She and family moved from Louisiana to Corpus Christi and later to Kingsville, TX.  She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1955.  She was employed for over 30 years by Spohn Hospital and worked in the Purchasing Department.  Mary was a faith-filled, generous and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. 

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ann Martin Farek, brother-in-law Henry Farek, and nephew Steve Farek. 

Mary has three daughters:  Katie Meyer McCarty (Thomas J. McCarty) of Champlin, MN, Betsy Meyer of Colorado Springs, CO and Robin Meyer Rapp of San Antonio, TX.  Grandchildren are Meghan McCarty Conway (Ryan), Patrick McCarty, Mollie McCarty and Michael McCarty, all of the Minneapolis, MN area, and Jessica Rapp, Denver, CO.  Mary's nieces are Susan Farek Hulburt Brown of Sugar Land, TX, Linda Farek Bayer (Scott) and Cathy Farek Dienst (Steve), both of Wimberley, TX.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 at Seaside Reid Chapel. A Rosary and prayer service will be offered at 6:00 p.m. that same evening.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021.  Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.  

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Thomas McCarty, Meghan McCarty Conway, Ryan Conway, Patrick McCarty, Mollie McCarty, Michael McCarty, Jessica Rapp, Arturo Salinas, and Phil Hale.
