Mary Ann Ponce

Mary Ann Stewart Ponce, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018 in her home. She was born on October 16, 1928, In San Antonio, Texas to Thomas G. and Clara (Delarosa) Stewart. Mary Ann truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chattin with friends and family, crocheting, word search and Bingo.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Ponce; brother, Henry D. Stewart, brother-in-law, Carlos Delgado, son-in-law, Paul Alvarez, and grandson, Billy Trae Ponce.

She is survived by her sons, Billy S. (Elizabeth) Ponce, Michael S. (Becky) Ponce, daughters, Patricia Ann Alvarez and Nancy Jo (John) Perales; her sister, Frances Delgado; brother Manual (Mary) Stewart; sister-in-law, Josie Stewart.

Mary Ann is a beloved grandmother of Melissa Ann (Dave) Rosenfield, Catherine (Mark) Lopez, Paul Jason (Rebecca) Alvarez, Michael Jacob Alvarez, Lisa (David) Colunga , Nicole (Mike) Blakeslee, Michael Sean Ponce, John Michael Perales and Stephanie Ponce-Perales. She adored her great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Tera, Mark, Mellony, Natalie, Rylee, Noah and Liam, and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Seaside Reid Chapel, a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on April 5, 2018 at the Corpus Christi Cathedral. Burial will follow at 11:30 at Seaside Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Seaside Funeral Home.

The family of Mary Ann wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to her caregiver, Yvonne Flores, who watched over and cared for our dear Mother until she went to be with her Lord and Savior.
