Mary Milaila Liscano Sanchez 86, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 18, 2023. She is rejoicing in the Presence of God and has reunited with her beloved father Manuel. She was born on July 2, 1936 to Manuel and Maria Liscano in Bishop, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from W.B. Ray High School Class of 1955.
She volunteered her teenage years as a Candy Striper at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. She then moved on to become a Dental Assistant. She married Homer Sanchez in 1959 and quit the workforce to raise her children. Upon her divorce in 1981, she re-entered the workforce and began working at Ada Wilson Children’s Hospital. It was here where she found her true calling, working with the Mentally and Physically Disabled. She retired from the Corpus Christi State School in 2002.
Milaila will always be remembered for her faith, strength, compassion and her heart for the Mentally and Physically Disabled.
She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Maria Liscano, siblings, Minerva Cantu, Lilie Cantu, Mary Gibson, Manuel Liscano Jr. and ex-husband Homer Sanchez.
She is survived by her sisters Irma Liscano, Marina Liscano, children Mary (Adrian) Perez, Homer (Gracie) Sanchez, Hector (Maria) Sanchez, Harry (Tina) Sanchez, Michelle (James) Mirabal, 18 Grandchildren and 13 Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park Mausoleums.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Andrew Perez, Hector John Sanchez, Michael Sanchez, John Lopez, Christian Mirabal, Giancarlo Mirabal and Adrian Orlando Perez.
