Matthew Vaughn Kesselring

Matthew Kesselring, 57, passed away on September 8, 2023.  He was born on June 19, 1966 to Jack Kesselring and Carol Fenner in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Matt retired from the United States Navy as a weatherman and Senior Chief after 23 years of service.  Matt graduated from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi with his Master’s Degree in Psychology specializing in School Psychology in 2022.  He worked for several Corpus Christi ISD schools and was a School Psychologist-Intern for San Antonio Special Programs Co-Op.  

He married Donna Taylor, the love of his life, in 1988.  They were happily married for 35 years.  Matt was a loving father of two boys - Jonathan Kesselring (28) and Brandon Kesselring (24) and one daughter-in-law, Sierra Kesselring (28).  

Matt was a man of God and liked to sing and worship with his church family at Real Life Fellowship.  Matt was a life-long learner and enjoyed spending time reading and learning about new ways to help and provide services to students.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his son’s coach basketball teams and his niece and nephew play basketball and baseball.  

Matt leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories in the hearts of his surviving family.  He is lovingly remembered by his mother- and father-in-law, Frank and Sue Taylor; brother, Rodney Kesselring (Elizabeth); two sisters-in-law, Kimberly Lardin (Larry) and Keri Brock (Joe); nieces and nephews, Christine Lardin, Jacob Lardin, Joseph Kesselring and Abby Kesselring, and one grandmother, Bessie Cox.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, September 14 from 6:00-8:00pm at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
