Max M Varnell

Max Morgan Varnell, age 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away April 19, 2018. He was born on December 2, 1936 to Stephen and Ruth Varnell in Wichita Falls, Texas. Max was raised in Henrietta, TX. graduated from Henrietta High School in 1955, was a competitive varsity tennis player and continued playing throughout most of his life. Max also attended college at Midwestern State University. He served as a Mason for more than 50 years, was presented a certificate and received his Masonic 50 year pin for his service in 2014. He was employed as a logistics specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration from 1965, working in Waco, San Antonio and Corpus and retired in 1994. He enjoyed spending his days at the lake and being outdoors.
Max is preceded in death by the love of his life of 32 years, Ceil K. Varnell, mother, Margaret Ruth Morgan- Varnell and father, Stephen Max Varnell.
Max is survived by his daughter, Patti Koehl, three sons, Mark, Chuck and Vic Custer, nine grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.
