Miles A. Merwin, 59, born December 23, 1957, the son of Joan M. Merwin and the late John Avery Merwin, Jr., passed away suddenly on November 17, 2017 of a massive heart attack. He attended Bristol Cathedral School in Bristol, England, graduated from Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ, and graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1980. He is survived by his mother Joan, sister Elizabeth Merwin Potter (Donald), nephews Derek and Dylan Potter, all of Sparta, NJ; and brother William Avery Merwin (Dawn) of Magnolia, Texas. He was a photographer with the Island Moon Newspaper, Padre Island, TX.
Miles was an avid bird watcher and bird photographer. He was always found with a camera at the ready. Miles was a loving caregiver to both his mother and father and a sweet, kind soul.
Miles requested a private service with family. The family wishes to thank all those who knew and cared for Miles over the years. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to one of the birding centers in Port Aransas, Texas.
