Narcedalia G. Salazar, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away on January 6, 2018, at the age of 93. She was born on September 28, 1924 to Esteban and San Juana Gutierrez.
She was a housewife and provided care for many children. She loved to travel and garden. Her passion was making quilts for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was famous for her cooking, especially her tamales and pan de polvo. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, of 72 years, Rodolfo Salazar, Sr., her daughter, Elva Ramirez and her son, Hector (Tito) Salazar.
She is survived by her brothers, Victor (Tommie +) Gutierrez and Guadalupe (Dora)Gutierrez, daughters, Nancy (Victor) Deleon, of Bastrop, Texas, Elda (Thomas)Blanco, Edie (Frank) Mendez and Melinda (Andy+) Alvarez, sons, David (Jacque)Salazar of Sherman Oaks, California, Isaac Salazar of Westerly, Rhode Island, Arnold (Anna) Salazar of Austin, Texas, Rudy Salazar, Jr. and Roland (Irma) Salazar, son-in-law, Jack (Lisa) Ramirez and former son-in-law, Jaime Pineda, daughter-in-law, Minga Salazar and former daughter-in-law, Gloria Salazar, 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank all the employees of Cimarron Place and Altus Hospice for the care and compassion they gave our Mother while she was under their care.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
