Obituary

Edwin Neel Fulghum, Jr. Corpus Christi, Texas

God received a faithful Christian man into his loving arms on the morning of May 21, 2020. Born Edwin Neel Fulghum, Jr. on August 5, 1929, in Kiowa, Kansas to Edwin Neel Fulghum, Sr. and Hatti Fulghum. This young man grew up to be a strong Christian leader and provider for his family. He was greatly loved and respected by each and every one of his family.

On February 28, 1959, Neel and Allie Fulghum were married. They were active members of Windsor Park Baptist Church where he served as Deacon of the Church for many years.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Allie Mae Fulghum and his son Christopher Ray Naylor. Neel is survived by his children: Catherine Naylor Vitek of Corpus Christi and Neel (Lupita) Fulghum, III of Brownsville; his grandchildren Terri Seaman of West Chester, PA, Toni (Joseph) Grimes of Portland, TX and Neel (Wynn) Fulghum, IV of San Antonio; and his great-grandchildren Catie and Allison Alford of Portland, TX and Torri, Lauren and Jonathan Seaman of West Chester, PA.

Neel was in the title business for over 50 years before retiring to work cattle on his ranch in Mathis. Neel was well respected in the title industry as well as among the local real estate attorneys. Even though Neel only had a high school degree, real estate attorneys from all over the Corpus Christi area would call him when they had a real estate question. He was known to have a greater knowledge of the real estate laws then any real estate attorney in Corpus Christi, even though he was not an attorney. Neel loved the Lord very much and would always give thanks to the Lord first for his success. He would say the Good Lord has done so much for me!! He also served his Country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Our Pawpaw, as he was so dearly called by his immediate family, will be missed by all.

Private services will be held at Seaside Funeral Home, officiated by longtime family friend, Ken de Koning. In lieu of flowers, please make tribute donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
