Obituary
Patti A. Elkins, age 69 went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2020. Patti was born May 6, 1951 in Peoria, IL to the late Hilton Murray Stone and Helen Frances Cook. She graduated in 1969 from Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, TX.
Patti went on to work for Nueces County Public Works Department, retiring after 37 years of service. Upon her retirement she remained active by being on the Board of Directors for the Nueces County Credit Union. She enjoyed any and all sports as well as her many rescue dogs over the years. You could find Patti at local sporting events cheering on as a longtime season ticket holder for the IceRays Hockey, Roller Derby Girls and the CC Hooks Baseball. She loved taking care of her hockey players so much that she became a billet mom for many years. Her greatest joy was her family along with her dear and closest friends. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, aunt, nana and one of the greatest friends that one could have. Her smile and personality radiated everywhere she went. Patti was one of a kind and a beaming light of love, laughter and downright good times. Never a dull moment from the Irish lady in her.
Patti is preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Elkins; father, Hilton M. Stone and mother, Helen F. Cook. Patti is survived by her sister, Diane (Doug) Macdonald of Laredo, TX ; brother, Brian Stone of Corpus Christi, TX ; mother-In-Law, Martha Criswell Elkins of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter, Brandy D. Gros of Portland, TX; son, Eric T. Elkins of Corpus Christi, TX and grandchild, Broc K. Mumme of Portland, TX. Patti also leaves behind several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 6-9 PM at Seaside Funeral Home. Due to COVID limitations, funeral services are limited to immediate family members only and will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow. Visitation and burial services are open to the public. Visitors are asked to virtually attend services prior to burial.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are: Broc K. Mumme, Cade Spratlin, Vernon Stone, Michael Olszewski, Paul Beaudoin and Ed Sachanowicz.
