Peggy Hurley Gilbert

Peggy Gilbert, age 73, passed away March 5, 2018. She was born on February 1, 1945 to Helen and Robert Hurley. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas where she graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1963.
Peggy married her husband Troy Gilbert in 1963. They were married for over thirty five years sharing the lives of their children and grandchildren. In 2010 she moved to Grove, Oklahoma to live with her daughter, Kellye and family.
Peggy was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys which was evident by her display of Cowboy memorabilia and Dallas hoodies, pajamas, blankets, etc. for the entire family. She enjoyed spending time with family especially her great-grandchildren. They gave her immense joy, love and laughter. She had a deep love for her brother, Perry and sister, Linda. She cherished the times they spent together. In her later years, she developed a strong relationship with the Lord, which she found very comforting.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Robert Hurley, maternal grandparents, Bula and Lester Black and paternal grandparents Phennie and Perry Hurley. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Kellye Spicer (David) of Grove, Oklahoma and Kimberly Gilbert, five grandchildren, Kaitlin Bennett, Justin Bennett, Kody Gilbert, Kevin Gilbert and Keith Gilbert (Amber), six great-grandchildren, Adaleigh, Jackson, Jordan, Kail, Kennedy and Kobain, one sister, Linda Anderson and brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Kathy Hurley.
A Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, march 9, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to be pallbearers are: Kody Gilbert, Keith Gilbert, David Spicer, David Hurley, Joe Van Maren and Bobby Bracey. Honorary pallbearer, Nugget Anderson.
