Peggy Jean Lennert

August 12, 1929 ~ October 3, 2020 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Obituary

Peggy Jean (Sanders) Lennert, age 91, was called home on October 3, 2020. She was born on August 12, 1929 to Benjamin Wessley Sanders and Mary Audrey Lambert Sanders in Taft, Texas.

On March 15, 1946, she married Joseph Charles Lennert. They were married forty-eight years until Joe’s passing on January 23, 1995. Peggy and Joe owned and operated Lennert & Son’s Jewelry Manufacturing together. They enjoyed traveling with family and friends as well as square dancing with the friendly squares. Peggy made most of her own square dancing outfits. She also enjoyed playing 42 and having her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren at her home, where she “taught” most of them how to swim. She was a great teacher, even though she was unable to swim herself. Sunday barbeques and holiday get-togethers with the whole extended family were so much fun. Peggy had a strong and outgoing personality with a willingness to jump in and help get the job done.

Peggy is preceded in death by; her husband, Joseph Charles Lennert; her parents, Benjamin Wessley Sanders and Mary Audrey Lambert Sanders; her sisters, Mary Georgia (Wilburn) Pippins of Beeville, Texas, and Mary Francis (Harvey) Richardson of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brother, Jim Sanders of Calallen; two sons, Wessley Charles and Christopher Scott Lennert of Corpus Christi, Texas; and one great-grandchild, Hanna Michelle Moy.

Left to cherish her memories are; her brother, Billy Wessley Sanders; two sisters-in-laws, Robbie and Margaret Sanders; one daughter-in-law, Beth; two children, Joseph Charles (Patti) Lennert and Deborah Jean (John) Vogelsang; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. We will all miss her dearly, but we are so happy that her prayers have been answered and that she has been reunited with her loved ones in Heaven.
Having the distinguished honor of serving as pallbearers are; Chad Vogelsang, Michael Hicks, Bryan Dobson, Alan Moy, Jake Moy, Dylan Garrett, Ayden Jeffers and Morgan McCloskey.
