Peshori L. Ahuja

January 15, 1923 ~ November 7, 2018 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Obituary

The life Mr. Ahuja lived is nothing short of amazing. He was a proud Indian, American, and Texan and known in the community as Papaji. He supported many charitable organizations and was always generous to those in need.

His joy mainly came from his spouse of 75 years, eight children, 19 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He is survived by his spouse, Samitran Ahuja, whom he affectionately referred to as Maharani, his children: Avinash (Peggy), Sushma Pahwa (Anil), Veena Kumar (Arvind), Sunil (Parveen), Bala Gurwara (Dharam), Ashwani (Sunita), Ken (Anju), and Rajan (Alka), and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Ahuja emigrated from India in 1981 after retiring as Assistant Controller of Defense Accounts in the Indian Department of Defense. After coming to the United States, he was very eager to learn computer programming and completed a two-year programming course at the age of 60. Due to his accounting background, soon after he joined H&R Block where he prepared taxes for several years.  He joined Magnum Producing in 1988 and was comptroller and the heart and soul of the Company for 30 years.

He always enjoyed a conversation about Indian or American politics and knew every little detail. Perhaps his most interesting hobby was to learn a new word every chance he had. He was always eager to learn from others and to share his knowledge with everyone around him. He called all his family members at least once a week to check on them and encourage and support them.

Mr. Ahuja passed away at home surrounded by his family. His energy, wisdom, sense of humor, and vast knowledge will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
