Ramon V Garcia

Ramon V. Garcia, age 86, passed away on August 3, 2018. Ramon was born on March 23, 1932 in Mirando City, Texas to Eliseo and Sara Garcia. He graduated from Roy Miller High School, Class of 1951. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1954 and rose to the rank of Staff Sargent. Ramon was awarded the following decorations: National Defense Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart. He was employed for over 40 years with Boyd-Campbell Co., the oldest and largest steamship agency in Corpus Christi, Texas. On May 30, 1959, Ramon married the love of his life, Elida A. Soliz, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, and was happily married for 57 years until Elida’s passing on August 5, 2016.
He was also preceded in death by this parents, Eliseo and Sara Garcia and his baby sister, Delia.
Ramon will always be remembered as a kind, honest, light-hearted and loving man dedicated to being a good husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his sons, Rene (wife, Theresa) and Carlos (wife, Carmen) and his grandchildren, Michael, Julia, Daniela and Jessica. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Christina and husband Robert Dalrymple, and his nephew and nieces, John, Ruth, Susan, and JoAnn; and his cousins, Alvaro Vela and Imelda Coronado.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Ramon was truly loved and respected and will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
