Raymond Garza

Raymond Garza, age 87, passed away June 16, 2021. He was born on August 14, 1933 to Carlos and Victoria Garza in New Braunfels, Tx. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Tx and went to W.B. Ray High School. He enlisted in the United States Army from 1951-1954 as a Private First Class.
Raymond married his wife, Mary Helen of 21 years on September 30, 1956. He was employed by Frito-Lay, Beckett and Marketing Specialists. Raymond was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and “Popo”.

Raymond enjoyed watching westerns and cooking. He will always be remembered for his love of cooking. He was a hard worker and a great salesman. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Served in the Korean War and proud Army veteran. He loved music, especially Tejano, Johnny Cash and George Jones. He was a devoted dad, uncle, brother and Popo.

Raymond is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Garza; parents, Carlos and Victoria Garza; brothers, Henry Garza, Justo “Gus” Garza, Lorenzo Garza; sisters, Feliza Villanueva, Anita “Mita” Villarreal, Maria Garza Villarreal.
Left to cherish his memories are daughters, Mary Katheryn Garza (Kathy) and Mary Margaret Garza; brothers, Joe G. Garza and Dr. Gonzalo Garza; grandchildren, Martha Ann (Robert) Moseley, Marina Michelle Garza, Adrian James Guerrero, and Christian Ray Guerrero; great-granddaughter, Olivia
Meredith Moseley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Joseph Garza, Louis Garza, Marina Garza, Christian Guerrero, Richard Loya, and Robert Moseley. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe G. Garza, Dr. Gonzalo Garza, James Garza, Jacob Garza, John Garza, Adrian Guerrero, Sonny Villanueva, Jesse Acosta, and Cody Moseley.
