Ricardo Ramirez, 81, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at home
on November 14, 2022, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born April 25, 1941, in Bishop, Texas to Tomas and
Paula Ramirez. He attended Roy Miller High School before serving in the United States Army from 1958-1961.
After his honorable discharge, Ricardo completed welding school in San Francisco, California. In San Francisco, Ricardo met and married his wife, Maria. Upon his return to Corpus Christi in 1969, Ricardo worked as a boilermaker (Union Local 557) until his retirement in 1999. He is remembered for his quick wit, colorful sense of humor, adventurous spirit and his genuine love and care for family and friends. Ricardo was an avid lover of baseball and survived to see his beloved Astros win the 2022 World Series.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Ricardo (Richard) Ramirez, Jr., his siblings George Ramirez, Mary Ramirez, Alicia Ramirez, Baudelio Ramirez, and San Juana Ynostroza.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years Maria L. Ramirez, son, Lawrence Ramirez, Los Angeles, California; daughter, Laurie Ramirez, Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter Rebecca Hernandez (Marcus), Cedar Park, Texas; granddaughter Sierra Alexander (Matthew), Corpus Christi, Texas, grandson: Richard Marcus Hernandez, Denton, Texas; granddaughter, Emily Brianna Hernandez, San Antonio, Texas; his siblings: Tomas Ramirez , Esmeralda Esquivel, and Sonia Goldacker (Curt) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Seaside Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Ramirez, Marcus Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Matthew Alexander, Victor Ramirez, and Jerry Zamora.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery
