Richard J. Scott

Richard John Scott, age 56, passed away April 18, 2022. He was born on March 16, 1966 to Richard E. & Marilyn K. Scott in Corpus Christi, Texas where he was raised and graduated from Richard King High School in 1983.

Richard J. Scott married his wife, Nelda Mendoza of 30 years on August 31. He was self- employed.
Rich enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

He loved to play darts, pool, and horseshoes. He was always willing to help others when they needed help and would drop what he was doing if he needed to just to go help them. He was a great father to his 3 kids and husband. Was a great friend to others and was always trying to help you out. He loved his music and would jam to his favorite songs with it so loud you could not hear yourself think. He loved to tell you jokes and loved to ride skateboards when he was younger.

Rich is preceded in death by his dad, Richard E. Scott; sister, Leslie M. Jackson; maternal grandparents, Hugh C. Williams (Frances), Nadine C. LaLone (Garnet); paternal grandparents, Lena Scott Chander (Howard) and Edward Scott (Jane); aunt, Doris Pellegrin; aunt, Mazie Elliott; uncle, Mark E. LaLone and uncle, Edward H. Williams.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Nelda Mendoza- Scott; son, John Edward Scott; daughters, Schanen M. Scott and Izabella Maria Scott; mother, Marilyn Kay Scott; sister, Lisa C. Kucala (Stephen); nieces, Emily Kucala and Abby Kucala; brother-in-law, Damon Jackson; sister-in-law, Diana Garcia (Val); brother-in-law, Alex Garcia; nephew, Zachary Jackson (Nickki); great nephew, Scott Jackson; great niece, Elayna Jackson; nephew, Trevor K. Jackson; niece, Kaylea (Shiloh) Jackson; nephew, Alex Garcia Jr. (Jondell); niece, Marie Garcia; great-nephew, Elijah Garcia; niece, Monica Garcia (David); great-niece, Kaylee Ramirez; great niece, Kaydence Ramirez; great nephew, Kingsley Ramirez and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park at later date.
