Richard R. Rodriguez

Richard Rene Rodriguez, 67, passed away on April 18, 2022. He was born December 4, 1954, in Falfurrias, Texas, the son of Rosendo and Jovita (Villarreal) Rodriguez. He graduated from Foy H. Moody High School in 1974.

Richard married his high school sweetheart, Diana (Morin) Rodriguez, of 27 years on December 6, 1975. He worked as an electrician for most of his life. He was a loving father, uncle and grandfather. He enjoyed reading, fishing, cheering on the Aggies, taking things apart and putting them back together. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand not only to his children but to his nieces and nephews. Later in life, he especially loved trying to keep up with his granddaughter, Madilyn. He will always be remembered for his quirkiness and sense of humor. Every moment spent with Richard will be remembered fondly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Morin Rodriguez and his sister, Ida Lou Rodriguez.

He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Frank) Viscaino; son, Michael (Lizzie) Rodriguez; his brother, Hector and his sister, Melba; his grandchildren, Madilyn Rodriguez, Ryan Rodriguez, Jaxon Viscaino and Ariel Rodriguez; his nieces and nephews and many other family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with an Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Mark Morin, Eric Medina, Angel Flores, Thomas Packer and Frank Viscaino.
