Roberto Ramiro “Bobby” Ramirez, M.D. passed into eternal life on November 7, 2021 in the presence of his loving family. He was born in Alice, Texas on August 24, 1954 to Ramiro and Paulina Ramirez. He was raised in Alice and graduated from Alice High School, class of 1972. In high school he was a member of the AHS band where he played the saxophone and his senior year, he made the Texas All State Band. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Houston and later his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 1985.

Among his many professional accomplishments, Dr. Ramirez cared for patients at South Baltimore General Hospital and the University of Texas Medical School. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, Dr. Ramirez served patients in Houston, Alice and Corpus Christi. Throughout his career Dr. Ramirez was committed to both the practice of medicine and strategically advancing access to medical care. Most notably among the advisory boards on which he served, Dr. Ramirez was Medical Staff Secretary for the Christus Spohn Hospital System, Medical Executive Board President for the Renal Care Group-South Central Region, and President of the Dialysis Access Center, LLP. Bobby, as he was lovingly known to his family and friends, married Minnie Elizondo of Benavides, Texas on July 28, 1979. He is survived by his son, Michael Robert, his wife Lauren, and their children Preston and Reagan; his younger son, Richard Joseph, his fiancé´ Michelle, and their daughter Olivia. He is also survived by his sisters Emilia (Fidel Rul, Jr.), Elnora, and Cynthia (John Patterson). He was a beloved uncle to his many nephews and nieces.

Bobby took pride in Rancho CasiNa and later his Rancho Poco Mas, where he enjoyed hosting family and friends for fellowship, hunting, and a visit out to his favorite horse, Pepper. He enjoyed biking, golfing, reading, and learning new hobbies. He had an incredible love for music and enjoyed playing various instruments throughout his life. Anytime spent at the ranch with Bobby you were greeted with music. It was not a rare occasion to have him send you a song of encouragement or reflection. Bobby had an incredible way of lighting up a room with his charisma and laughter.

Bobby’s loved ones will forever remember him for his warmth, generosity, outstanding sense of humor (with a bit of mischief!), and his good nature. He was devoted to his family, provided immense love and support, and lived with deep authenticity. Bobby leaves a powerful example of a man dedicated to fighting until the end, and grounding each breath in perseverance and faith.

A beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend his family is grateful knowing that Bobby is now at peace with his father, mother and Tia More´.
