Roberto G. Gonzalez

Bobby Gonzalez, 55, of Corpus Christi, TX passed away January 11, 2021. He was a loving and joyous person, his uplifting character often shined through to everyone he met. He was always a happy person and his laughter would light up the room wherever he went. Bobby had the ability to get along with everyone regardless of his or her background or circumstances. He would often inspire happiness in other people and carried a joyous attitude throughout his life. He will be most remembered for how dedicated he was to his family, especially his wife and children, and how happy he made people feel when they were around him.

Bobby grew up in Robstown, TX. He graduated from Robstown High School (RHS) in May 1984. While at RHS he was an active band member and student council. Bobby attended Del Mar College for a few years and pursued a short career as a Legal Assistant in Corpus Christi and San Antonio. Later he started working for the State of Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers’ Compensation, Corpus Christi Field Office Manager/Assistant Regional Supervisor for the past 25 years. Bobby was also a licensed State of Texas Real Estate agent for the past ten years. He was very passionate about selling homes and real estate in the country.

Bobby married his loving wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Elizaldi, December 30, 1995. Bobby and Jackie often said that the best day of their life was the day they brought home their three children. Bobby loved his family deeply and spent his days going to London High School sporting events for the kids or hosting events at home with friends and family and managing his household.

Bobby was joined in Heaven with his loving father, Guadalupe B. Gonzalez; paternal grandparents, Juan C. Gonzalez and Guadalupe Gonzalez; maternal grandparents, Patricio and Evarista Guardiola; nephew, Andrew Garza.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Gonzalez; his sons, Tristan and Estevan Gonzalez; daughter, Alysse Gonzalez; his mother, Rebecca “Becky” G. Gonzalez; sisters, Norma Gonzalez, Elizabeth “Lisa” Gonzalez Benavides and husband Michael Benavides, all from Corpus Christi and Ida Gonzalez-Garza and husband Ruben Garza, Jr. of Orange Grove, Tx; and brother, Alfredo “Freddy G. Gonzalez of Portland, Tx. Ernest and Maria “Cande” Elizaldi, in-laws; Irma Elizaldi and Virgilio Mir, sister and brother-in-law of San Antonio; Ernie and Melinda Elizaldi, brother and sister-in-law of Corpus Christi. Alexandra & Ava Gonzalez, Lauren Gonzalez, Giselle Gonzalez, Gerald Cardenas, Kristian Mir, Alessandra and Avianna Elizaldi. Beloved nieces and nephews.

The Gonzalez-Elizaldi Families would like to express their most sincere gratitude to family, friends, co-workers, and London Pirates community for their messages, cards, flowers, food, prayers and love to our families. We wholeheartedly appreciate them all.

We would also like to express our most sincere “Thank You” to the staff of Spohn Shoreline ICU for their care during this time of need for our loved one. We were appreciative that we were allowed to pay our last respects during this time to see our loving son, brother, husband, father and uncle before he passed.

A visitation will be held at 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary at 7:00 pm, that same evening. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 am Saturday, January 23, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Interment to follow at Robstown Memorial Park. Virtual Services will be available below, under the 'Services' section.
