Roberto Peña, age 74, passed away on December 30, 2019. He was born on July 13, 1945 to Elijio and Apolina Peña in Delmita, Texas. He was raised in San Isidro, Texas and graduated from San Isidro High School in 1964. Roberto was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army from 1964-1967. He was employed and retired from American Chrome and Chemical.
Roberto married his wife, Janie Peña, of fifty years on June 14, 1969. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and football. Roberto will always be remembered for his sense of adventure and the devotion he had to his family, especially his grandchildren.
Roberto is preceded in death by his parents: Elijio and Apolina Peña and sisters: Mary Munoz, Marta Peña and Maria Elena Henderson. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife: Janie Peña; daughters: Monica Peña-Moore and Jessica Valdez; sisters: Teresa Alvarado and Noemi Peña and brothers: Ralph Peña and Homero Peña.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are: Bobby R. Moore III, Marshal Blaine Moore, Juan Leonardo Lugo III, Jonah Liam Lugo, Richard Valdez III, and Bobby R. Moore, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Levi Valdez and Roman Luke Valdez.
