Obituary

Roland Henry Patrick passed away on Saturday, June 18th, 2022. He died in Corpus Christi, Texas after a lengthy illness. He courageously fought hard, but God decided his body had been through enough and called him home. I am sure he ran through the gates of Heaven and, finally did not feel any pain. I know his mother held him tight, and with tears of joy said, “I have been waiting for you.” His Father, Grandmother, and brother reached out their hands and welcomed him. What an amazing reunion it must have been.

Roland was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 24, 1963. He attended Mary Carroll High school. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church where he served as Altar Boy. His mother instilled Catholic values in his life, and until the time of his death he always had a rosary near him. He enjoyed surfing, horseback riding, hunting, and riding his motorcycle, but his first love was fishing. On any given day you could always find Roland at his favorite fishing spot. He always had a great fishing story to share with everyone. He never missed a chance to listen to live music. He could tell you the words to every song that was popular in the seventies and eighties. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed making new friends but cherished his childhood friendships that he had until the day of he passed away.

Roland was a carpenter and a plumber. He enjoyed remodeling older homes. He moved to California and New Orleans when he was in his thirties, but he loved Texas and always returned home. He was a diligent worker, and always tried to help his elderly neighbors with repairs at their homes.

He is preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Rosalie Patrick, his brother Calvin David Patrick Jr, and his Grandparents Pauline Schellhase Tyler and Charles Tyler, Adela Ayala, and Elmar Whitlock. He is survived by his siblings Charles Patrick and Robin Patrick Cox, his nephew Joseph Reagan Gore, and his best friends that he loved like family Daisy Griffith Williams and Dominic Carrejo. He leaves behind many numerous cousins and Aunts and Uncles.

Donations can be made to Gulf Coast Humane Society or The Cattery (Cat shelter) on Saratoga.
