Ronald Ewan Morgan, Jr., alternatively known as Ronnie or Ron, age 75, passed away in his Corpus Christi home on April 30th, 2018. He was born on September 22nd, 1942 to Ronald Ewan Morgan and Geraldine Avis Dunbar in San Antonio TX.
Ron is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Martinez Morgan, and his parents, Ronald Ewan Morgan and Geraldine “Gerry” Avis Dunbar. He is survived by his children, Ronald Steven Morgan, William Paul Morgan and Mundy Michelle Morgan, his sisters, Carol Elaine Haskett and Kathy Lee Gray, grandchildren, Shelly Ann Azevedo, Kristofer Jared Ethan Morgan, Sunday Breanna McClung, Victoria Chehalis Winter Morgan, Caleb Gage Morgan, Spring Brooke Salazar, Grace Margaret Morgan and Sarah Beth Salazar, great-grandchildren, Joshua Aiden Morgan, Molly Sage Morgan, Chandler Ann McClung, Sawyer Brynlee McClung and Seren Elizabeth Morgan.
Ron grew up in San Antonio, TX where he graduated from Harlandale High School. He moved to Kingsville, TX and earned a degree from Texas A&I University. He then married his first wife, Dena Elaine Morgan, the mother of his three children. His lifelong interests were in music, whether as a founding member of The Kings or as a studio musician, producer, and song writer in the Coastal Bend. His career path took him from band director, to disc jockey, to news reporter, to TV anchor, to television news director, and finally, petroleum land man. He was retired from EOG Resources.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
