Obituary
Rosalia M. Gonzalez, age 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas died peacefully with her family around her on Sunday, December 27, 2020. Born on April 22, 1943 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Rosalia was the daughter of the late Bruno Y. and Rosalia Martinez.
On October 26, 1968, Rosalia married the love of her life, Ricardo R. Gonzalez. Rosalia was a loving Wife, Mother, Abuela and Dear Friend. She will always be remembered for her love of God, her unique nature, her devotion to her family and servant to the Catholic Church. She was a CCD teacher, a lector, President of the Catholic Daughters, Teacher of Baptismal classes and a member of the St. Monica prayer group at her church – Christ the King.
Her life was a living example of her favorite quote, “My life is religion and religion is my life.” She always loved sharing her teachings of God with her grandchildren during Abuela Camp in the summer months. She also was devoted to sharing her knowledge of her faith with all who sought more understanding of the Catholic Church.
Rosalia is preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo R. Gonzalez and grandson Esai Jeremiah George.
Rosalia is survived by her daughter Rita Gonzalez; daughter, Raquel M. Gonzalez (Domingo); son, Ricardo M. Gonzalez (Christina) and son, Roque M. Gonzalez (Julie) and her eight grandchildren: Daniela, Celestina, Ricardo, Mia, Roque, Katia, Lucas and Sofia whom she loved dearly. She is also a Tia to numerous nieces and nephews whom she shared many happy moments with.
A private visitation and rosary was held on Monday, January 4, 2021. A funeral mass was celebrated at 1:30 p.m. at Christ the King Church followed by the burial at Seaside Memorial Park.
