Rosendo “Roy” R. Baltazar Jr., age 92, of Corpus Christi, Texas, was peacefully called home on Thursday, September 14, 2023 with his loved ones at his side. Popo, as he was affectionately called by his family, was born on October 20, 1930, in Seguin, Texas, to Rosendo R. Baltazar and Concepcion Zapata.
He and his wife, Elvira Baltazar, were married 72 years and had three children during the course of their life together. Roy was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather.
Roy enjoyed spending time with family. He often spent time playing games with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roy had a God given gift working with his hands, and he would help them build and create toys. He also enjoyed fishing. He was known by his family and friends to have made the best “sweet tea” around.
Roy proudly served in the U.S. Army, with an honorable discharge. He worked in the Maintenance Dept. of several companies and his last employment was with Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship (CCCF), of which he was a long-time member.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elvira Baltazar; three sons, Rosendo “Roy” G. Baltazar (Johnnie Sue) of Garland, Texas, Raymond “Ram” G. Baltazar (Susie), and Frank G. Baltazar (Debbie), both of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
