Obituary

Salvador Flores, age 62, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 7, 2024 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born on June 15,1961 to Aurelia and Martin Flores in Robstown, Texas. He lived his whole life in his beloved town of Robstown and Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Robstown High School in 1976 after which he enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1984 serving his country for 10 years. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1994 with the rank of Sergeant. He worked as a warehouseman for twenty years in the Flint Hills Refinery Plant as a contractor.  He was avid fishermen and craftsman.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Robstown Ward. He would never fail to share his testimony of his faith in God and Jesus Christ with whoever wanted to hear him. He was a humble servant to anyone in need of his service. His words were always “Don’t forget to pray”.

He is survived by his wife and eternal companion, Yvonne Flores, of 15 years. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the San Antonio LDS Temple.

He was a loving and devoted father to his four children, Salvador Jr (Amy) from Benton, Arkansas, Ashley Mitridis, Adam Flores and Alexsandra Flores, and one step-child Natalie Hayes.

A doting grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Shaun Cortez, Sarrina Carnley, Khristina Carnley, Nastasia Mitridis, Sebastian Flores, Jasmine Love Guerrero, and Rosalie Mitridis. He always made sure to spend as much time as he could by taking them fishing, going to the park, or just being around them filled him with so much joy.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Aurelia Flores, three sisters Sarita, Senaida, Maria Ignacia, Francisca and two brothers Vicente and Ramon.

He is survived by his sisters, Trinidad Perez (Richard), Janie Morales (Juan); Teresa Villarreal (Pete); Guadalupe Villarreal (Baldermar); Maria Elena Mata (Israel); Susie Trevino (Juan); Rosalinda Wayda (James); Bernice Garza (David) and one brother Martin Flores (Irma) and numerous nephews and nieces.

“this life on earth is the time to prepare to meet God, I know life is not fair and hard and everyone will cry, feel pain, sorrow, but these things must be, if we are to grow spiritually”

“when I pray thou art with me I am not afraid, yea though I walk through the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me”

Salvador Flores will be laid to rest, Thursday, April 11, 1 pm at the Mausoleum Seaside Memorial Park followed by a luncheon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 2120 FM 1889, Robstown, TX 78380.
