Silvestra "Betty" Gomez Maldonado

Silvestra “Betty” Gomez Maldonado was received by the lord on Monday, September 18, 2023, surrounded by her four children. She was born on July 1, 1947, to Julia Martinez and Santiago Gutierrez. She is survived by her children, Patricia Gomez, Christina Gomez, Stephanie Gomez and Robert Gomez III and her grandchildren, Audrianna A Molina, Sabrina C Arredondo, Patrick J Arredondo Jr., Madalyn N Molina, Emily Martinez, Elena G Arredondo and great-grandchild, Jacob A Vera.

Silvestra is preceded in death by her mother and father, Julia Martinez and Santiago Gutierrez; first husband, soulmate, father of her children, Robert P Gomez Jr.; and late husband Maximo Maldonado.

First and foremost, Silvestra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend to all. Her passion in life was her family. Betty was a strong advocate and supporter in anything that her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild pursued. She loved ensuring her family was and is taken care of. There was truly no love like the love Silvestra shared with all of her family.

Throughout Silvestra’s beautiful life, she had a love for many hobbies and activities. Betty loved cooking, dancing, sewing, bingo, being a homemaker, and watching/ recapping novellas. She especially loved her coffee time and monthly lunches with her siblings and closest friends.

 This world lost a beautiful person, but Heaven gained the most beautiful and loving soul. Silvestra “Betty” Gomez Maldonado will forever be missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 5:00-9:00pm at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited that same evening at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 10:00am at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church located at 3210 South Padre Island Drive (SPID), Corpus Christi, TX 78415. Followed by Interment at Seaside Memorial Park.

Her four children would like to thank Silvestra’s brothers, sisters, and family who she adored for all the love and support during this difficult time.

Mom, you will be in our hearts forever and we will treasure all the memories each of us have of you. We love you for eternity. Rest in Peace our Beautiful Angel.
