Steven DeVane Crocker passed away on September 17, 2018 at the age of 80. He was born in Corpus Christi, TX on December 4, 1937 to Joe and Martha (Nonie) Crocker.
Steven was a 1956 graduate of W.B. Ray High School. Soon after graduating, he joined the family business, Joe Crocker Moving & Storage. He was Operations Manager for many years in Corpus and then moved to Houston to open and manage their Houston location. He returned home in 1980 to manage the Corpus location until its closing.
Steven played football and baseball for W.B. Ray H.S. and he loved to wade fish and hunt on the family ranch in Kenedy County. He shared many fishing and hunting stories about his grandfather, father and Uncle Bye with friends and other family members.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, brothers’ Terry and Daryl Crocker, and granddaughters’ Cheyenne and Emily Crocker.
Steven is survived by his wife Janice of 37 years; his three children, Nicholas (Beth) Crocker, Houston, TX, Jason Crocker, Center Point, TX, daughter, Joei Cooper, Kerrville, TX; granddaughter Brandi Cooper and grandson David Crocker; his sister Kay (Monroe) Luther, of Houston, TX; and nieces and nephews, Stephanie Hamilton, Marie Luther and Monroe Luther Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grade school classmates and dear friends Thomas Barker, Lyndon Roth, David Ward, Allen Rankin, Norman Esse and Joe Rittgers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
A Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
