Mom Barbara, Bobby and Larry,

I was saddened to read of the passing of Susan. As the saying goes "Gone but not forgotten", I have fond memories of our childhood together with you as our lives moved on to different locations. Susan's letter to Bobby will be one to share with my grandsons so they too will know of the personal struggle of one so inspirational, courageous and dear to so many. Susan had a wonderful strong and loving mother as an example. Thank you for sharing Susan's and all other females dreams and desires while the struggle continues.. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families always.

I loved reading about Susan in the Houston Chronicle today. I wish I had known her. She must have been an incredible person. May she now have the freedom to fly wherever she wants. My condolences to her family.

Hello Bobby,
I did not know your sister Susan but I just finished reading her obituary in the Caller-Times. First, thank you for publishing her letter to you. That may have taken some courage and even some extra expense. As someone born just six years after Susan, I can relate to what she has described. I can only imagine all the ways Susan may have been able to contribute to the world had she been allowed to pursue more of her dreams and interests along the way. I will be sharing Susan's letter with my two daughters. We cannot forget how hard-fought all the rights we have today were, and how quickly or systematically they can be taken away. We owe such a debt of gratitude to all those that were pioneers -- those that succeeded and others that tried sometimes in vain. I wish I could have met Susan and told her this myself. Thank you again for including her letter in her obituary. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family in your time of grief.

I am very proud of my big sister. Susan was always trying to take care of the ones she loved. She is missed, yet still loved very much by her little brother.
