Susan Elizabeth Johnson

Susan Elizabeth Johnson, age 61, passed away on December 31, 2019. She was born to Dee and Ruth Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a longtime resident of CC SSLC.

Susan was a loving sister, daughter and aunt. Susan enjoyed food, looking at family pictures, being read books and told stories. She loved the warmth of touch and holding hands and you stroking her hair and cheeks. Susan will always be remembered for her innocence, quiet and very sweet nature, her warm spirit and her ever seeking curious beautiful big brown eyes.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Dee and Ruth Johnson; sisters, Sister Nancy Johnson, Frances Sheldon McCabe and husband Joseph V. McCabe, Carol Polasek and husband Edward Polasek; brother, Christopher T. Johnson and brother-in-law, Luis Zapata. Left to cherish her memories are her sisters: Martha Zapata of San Antonio, TX and Mary Johnson Garcia and husband Jim of Austin, TX. Surviving family includes numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Nancy McCabe Bell who acted as Susan’s Legal Guardian and Denise McCabe who was Susan’s most frequent visitor and advocate.
A Celebration of Susan’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020 at All Saints Episcopal Church. Inurnment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
