Tiodoro Burciaga

October 29, 1948 ~ August 24, 2020 (age 71)

Tiodoro “Ted” Burciaga, age 71, was called home to the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020 surrounded by his loving children. He was born on October 29, 1948 in Morton, Texas to Gregorio and Petra Burciaga, who precede him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Jose “Joe” Burciaga and sister, Elidia “Lile” Rodriguez.
Ted was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, who served his country for over 20 years including service in the Gulf War. Ted will be remembered for his trust and faith in God and his love for his family and friends. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church – serving as a Eucharist Minister and on various ministries. He also enjoyed volunteering in the yearly Toys for Tots drive. He never met a stranger and enjoyed life with many friends and family. His ever-present smile brought great joy and comfort to all those he encountered. Most importantly, he was a loving and devoted father and Popo. He is loved beyond words and will be missed immensely.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his children - daughter, Amy (Armando) DeLoa, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX; sons, Steven (Veronica) Burciaga of Corpus Christi, TX and Christopher (Jana) Burciaga of Porter, TX. He is also survived by his pride and joys – grandson's Devin DeLoa, Brandon (Courtney) DeLoa, Jacob (Victoria) Galvan, Marcus and Matthew Burciaga; granddaughter, Victoria (Victor Segura) Burciaga; and great-grandson, Elliot James Galvan.
Ted is also survived by his loving sisters, Juanita “Janie” Bustos, Modesta “Molly” Nesmith of Corpus Christi, TX, Criselda “Cris” Davila (Ramiro) and Delia (Jesus) Murrillo of Houston, TX and Gloria (Bill) Ciccarelli of Wilmington, DE and many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Our family would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Reddy, Spohn South 3rd floor nurses, and staff along with the ICU nurses and staff for their continuous support and devoted care of our father during his courageous battle. Our thoughts and prayers are also extended to all those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
