Verda May Anderson Teague Beaver was born in Denison, TX on Nov. 29, 1920 to John and Dorothy Anderson and died on November 23, 2021 in Rockport, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Marx Meredith Teague, her second husband, Roy A. Beaver, one baby daughter and her son, Randall Marx Teague. She is survived by her one son, John Anderson Teague (Christina); one daughter, Meredith A. Carter (Terry); three grandchildren, Rachel L. Teague, Andrew H. Ehrlich and Kathryn A. Verda (called Andy) graduated from Jefferson Davis School of Nursing in Houston, TX and joined the Army Nurse Corps as a member of the 127th General Hospital which was organized by the University Of Texas Medical School. The Unit set up a thousand bed hospital in England near Taunton. After D-day the hospital moved to Rennes, Normandy France and later followed the army across France to Nancy. After VE Day they headed home. She married a Navy Pilot, Marx Meredith Teague whom she had met in England, and became a Navy wife. They moved every couple of years and had 3 children. Toward the end of the Korean War, Cdr. Teague was killed in a plane crash in Hawaii. The family moved to back to Corpus Christi. Four years later she married Roy A. Beaver who helped her raise her family. She and Roy were very active in the Presbyterian Church. They were members of Central Park and Grace. They left Grace to help start a new church called Heritage Presbyterian Church, PCA. She is still a member of that church-now known as Southside Community Church. She worked in the Labor and Delivery unit of Spohn Hospital in C.C. and of the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She worked at the City County Health Department in Corpus Christi for 15 years. After she retired she did volunteer work in the Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Southside Community Church or to the Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
