Walter Ernest Darby, Jr., 87, left this earthly world on February 16, 2021 to join his heavenly father and savior Jesus Christ. Diagnosed with cancer one month ago, he suffered a great deal of pain. We know that pain no longer exists. His last wish was to be at home and see Linda one more time! Wish Granted! He and Linda were married 23 years and she was by his side when he took his last breath.
Walter spent 42 years of his life working for Reynolds Metal. He was also in the Navy prior to that. Retirement didn’t slow him down. You could find him in his garden or creating something in his shop.
He always has a project ongoing. Fellowship with his Christian family became a very important time in his life. Many hours were dedicated to helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Darby, his stepdaughter, Ann (David) Cunningham, 3 of his 5 children, Dusty Darby (Houston), Mary Russo (Austin), and Roxane Cash (San Antonio); 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren
He is preceded in death by Judy Leshko and TJay. Walter had many family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
There will be a Graveside Service at 10 AM on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Seaside Memorial Park.
