It was a beautiful Mother’s Day Sunday morning when Wanda “Sue” went to her home in Heaven to join her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and to reunite with her mother Velma Fae and father Julius Hardy, as well as her beloved husband Bill, son Russell, and three brothers Paul, Robert, and Chet Hardy. Joining them recently was Chet’s wife, Lois Hardy. Sue’s sister, Reba “June” Ward (husband Aaron) survives them.
Sue is also survived by three daughters, Beverly Evans (husband Mike), Vickie Jones, and Diana Lyn. Her grandchildren include Cara Hardin (husband John), Shawna Evans, Tamara Clark (husband Stephen), Daniel Richardson (wife Rose), Becky Richardson, Woendi Wells, and Curtis Lindersmith.
Great grandchildren include Bryce Gregory, Lincoln Clark, Victoria Clark, Brooks Hardin, Hubert Richardson, Trey Jones, William Jones, Patrick Richardson, and Paige Wells. Her Great-great grandchildren are Bentley Jones and Madison Richardson.
After attending W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Sue became an award-winning PBX operator for Bell Telephone Company, a secretary for Oscar Wyatt, Jr. at Coastal Gas Producing Company, and a local business owner of Bill & Sue’s Barbeque.
Sue enjoyed outdoor adventures with her husband Bill, such as water skiing, fishing, and hunting. Many of those adventures were shared with other family members. She loved to dance and was also a very enthusiastic bowler, playing in many different leagues with Bill over the years. Working in the flower beds was one of her favorite pastimes.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
