Wesley F. Walberg, age 91, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on December 18, 1926.
Wesley graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1944 and studied engineering at The University of Texas for a year before entering the U.S. Army. He served as a Sergeant in WWII. Two years later he returned first to Del Mar Community College and then to U.T. where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art in 1951. He was employed at H-E-B Grocery Co. as a Graphic Designer for 35 years during the day, at night he worked for hours in his art studio and sold his creations at weekend art shows. This award winning sculptor also ran a successful import business “Walberg Studios” marketing his African Imports through the World Trade Center in Dallas, TX. and the Los Angeles Trade Market.
Wesley was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Walberg. Left to cherish his memories are his two sons: Mark Wesley (Gretchen) and Leslie Philip (Dena), grandchildren: Jennifer Tankersley (Chad), Angela Ford (Carl) and Matthew Pierce, two great-grandchildren: Carl Brandon Ford and Maylyn Rose Abers.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
