William Patrick Evans

August 12, 1949 ~ September 19, 2019 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Obituary

William Patrick Evans, age 70, passed away September 19, 2019. He was born on August 12, 1949 to Bill and Maxine Evans in Cuero, Texas. He was raised in Victoria, TX. Being the oldest brother of three boys, he was the ringleader of many pranks played on his younger brothers Danny and Joe. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1967 and many of his high school friends became life-long friends.

Pat and his wife of 46 years, Shelley Lee, were married on November 18, 1972. Pat was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was an avid reader and his favorite book was Lonesome Dove, which he read many times. Pat had Houston Oilers season tickets for many years and was heartbroken when their owner moved the team to Tennessee. He took great pride in his yard and his ability to make any plant grow, even in the Texas heat. He may have been the last Netflix customer who still rented DVD’s through the mail, but he enjoyed the excitement of receiving the red envelope in the mailbox. Pat loved to fish, to hunt, and later in life, was called to be a Stephen Minister at Asbury United Methodist Church. He attended church every week and loved volunteering.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Maxine Evans. He is survived by his wife Shelley, daughters Ashly Bown and Bethany Evans, son-in-law Nick Bown, future son-in-law Erik Luis, grandchildren Olivia and Samuel Bown, and brothers Danny and Joe Evans.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Asbury United Methodist Church.
