William (Bill) Kirshner, 91, passed away February 15, 2017. He was born February 5, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to George F. Kirshner and Mary L. Cuddy. Bill was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Northwestern University in Evenston, Illinois and enlisted in the Marines during WWII serving from December 1943 to April 1946. Bill earned the rank of Corp. during his military service. He married his wife, Jody, on August 14, 1976. He was a financial planner with E.F. Hutton and became self-employed and owner of W. N. Kirshner Company. Bill enjoyed sailing his boat in Corpus Christi Bay and spending time with friends at B.Y.C. He will be remembered for his sense of adventure. Bill was especially proud to serve his country as a Marine. He loved the times family spent and visited at Crystal Lake, MI. He enjoyed SPAGL at St. Phillip the Apostle. As a retired senior he loved to hear about the coming and going of his seven grandchildren; even happier when he could be with them. He spent many years, childhood and adult life on the water as a sailor.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Kirshner; brother, Philip Kirshner of Frank Fort, MI; and his first wife, Mary Ann Kirshner.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary J. (Jody) Kirshner; loving father to, Kathleen Kirshner McClelland (Steve) of Dallas, TX and David Kevin Kirshner (Leslie Lewis) of Westport, CT; his sisters, Sherie Barnes (Scott) of Auburn, N.Y. and Ginny Axon (Steve) of Highlands Ranch, CO.; grandchildren, Scott McClelland (Lindsay), Sam McClelland, Kyle, Kaitlin, Megan, Ryan and Kevin Kirshner.

The family greatly appreciates the great hospice team from Nurses on Wheels. He was well cared for by Laura, Noelia, Katie and Tilla, who cared for him at home the last 14 months.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30am, Tuesday, February 21, 2017, followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church located at 3513 Cimarron Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78414. Interment at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00p.m.

Pallbearers will be, Scott McClelland, Sam McClelland, Eric Stickles, Jan Hook, Dan Fox and Rene Garza.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
