Willie Jane Farrer peacefully went to her resting place on January 17, 2019. She was surrounded by her husband, son and grandson as she took her last breath. She was born to Willie E. Heibel and Maggie Jane Vic on August 11, 1927 in Victoria County.
Willie was married to her husband, Ozzie Farrer, for sixty-nine years. Jane and Ozzie knew each other since they attended Country Schools seventy-four years ago.
Jane was a gifted athlete. She set school and some state school records in high jump, long jump and track. She also played semi pro softball. When she was seven years old she rode her first pony bareback and no bridle. Later in life she learned to play golf and with her husband won tournaments and individual honors.
In her past time she spent many hours reading to children at Driscoll Children’s Hospital and was a substitute teacher to the children in our Catholic Schools. She was a member of the Altar Society.
Willie obtained a broker’s license in real estate for several years. Before her retirement in 1991, Willie operated her husband’s auto supply store where she worked the counter and kept the books
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
