Yolanda Garcia

Yolanda Lerma Garcia, 78, of Missouri City, TX formerly of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away May 25, 2021 in Missouri City, TX. She was born on July 19, 1942 in Benavides TX to Baltazar and Ernestina Lerma. She was a retired Extended Daycare and Cafeteria worker with Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugar Land, TX and formerly employed as a Bookkeeper at Mary Carroll High School with Corpus Christi Independent School District.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Adalberto Lerma, and one sister, Ninfa Lerma Soliz.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 57 years, Rosendo Aaron Garcia, Jr. of Missouri City, TX, formerly of Corpus Christi, TX; one daughter, Kimberly Garcia Kornegay (Dean) of Missouri City, TX; one sister, Irma Lichtenberger of San Diego, TX. and several nieces and nephews.

Yolanda was mainly devoted to her two granddaughters, Morgan Lee Kornegay (24) and Kenedy Lynn Kornegay (20). She spent countless hours being involved with them and watching over them while they were at school. She also attended as many of their extracurricular and softball games as she could - and there were many. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Seaside Reid Chapel with Entombment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Dean Kornegay, Kyle Hoffmaster, Tanner Zimmerhanzel, Ben Serrato, Ralph Lichenberger, Richard Conde, Dale Kornegay, CM Nelson and Cory Carpenter.
