Christell Coleman, age 73, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born on October 23, 1943 to Jay and Betty Mae Smith in Groesbeck, TX. She was raised in Mexia, TX and attended Woodland High. She married her husband of fifty years on November 28.
Christell was a self-employed business owner. She loved being around her relatives especially her great grandkids. She also loved being a Jehovah Witness, it was her everything in life. Her hobby was fishing, sewing and cooking. She will be truly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Roy (Jay) and Betty Mae Smith; sister, Dorthy Nell Medlock;brothers, Charlie D. Smith, James Smith and Willie Smith.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Linda Smith; son-in-law, Johnny Smith; siblings, Alnita Gipson, Carl Smith, Jimmy Lee Smith, Lonzo Smith; two grandchildren, Genia (Nari) Muhammad and Johnny Smith Jr. ; three great-grandchildren, Naya Muhammad, Robert Muhammad, Kayden Dufour, and a host of nephews and nieces, as well as a host of Jehovah Witness Friends.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Dorsey- Keatts Funeral Home located at 602 North Ross Avenue in Mexia, TX. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mexia, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Donell Brown Jr., Emmanuel Jefferson, Charles Moore Jr., Charles Coleman, Daniel Jackson, Kenneth Wayne Smith and Robert Wayne Thompson, Jr.
