Dorothy Lewis Barclay passed away Friday morning, October 13, 2017. She was born, on a farm near Robstown, November 30, 1925.
Dorothy received her B.B.A. from the University of Texas in 1946. She was an active church member of Parkway Presbyterian Church since 1954. In 1962 she became a bookkeeper at McInnis Book Store. She worked and eventually owned the store until retirement in 1986. In retirement, she volunteered for the next twenty years at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. She worked in the gift shop and was treasurer of the Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge and domino player.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Bert William and her eldest daughter, Barbara Barclay Apell of Rockport. She is survived by her son, Thomas M. (Sheilagh) of Atlanta, daughter Peggy Howard (Tom) and two granddaughters, Deanna Dobie (Will) of Pulaski, Va., Wendy Padier (Richard) of Rockport, Texas, and three great-grandchildren, Patrick Dobie, Kyrie Dobie, and Brittney Padier.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 21, 2017 at Parkway Presbyterian Church.
