Evangeline Farias Riley, passed away April 21, 2017. She was born August 17, 1922 to Tomas Farias and Maggie Wells Farias in Corpus Christi, TX. She was raised in Corpus Christi, TX. She graduated from Corpus Christi H.S.

Evangeline was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, quiet nature, and sense of adventure and as “the butterfly lady”. She enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas Farias and Maggie Wells Farias; daughter, Peggy Alexander; several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Carl) Moss; son, Charles “Chuck” (Alynn) Riley; son in-law, Buddy Wayne Alexander; brother, A.B. Farias; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Reid Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be Zachary Riley, Andrew Riley, David Moss, Michael Moss, James Moss, and Buddy Ray Alexander.
