Gene Francis Creely

Gene F Creely was Born in St Louis Mo. To Frank and Althea Creely.
Moved to Corpus Christi in 1944 and was graduated from the CC H S (Now Roy Miller High School) in January 1947. Went to Work at Merrill Lynch, Pierce & Beane as Boardmarker, Went in the Navy as an Airman ADAN in 1948. Went to VP-8 at Quonset Point then to the ORISKANY (CV-34A) as a Plank Owner at commissioning ceremony at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, to Patuxant River VR-1 & got out of the Navy as an AD3, (in 1952), went back to MLPF & B until 1953 when he joined the Air Force Cadet Training Program. He went to Lackland AFB (San Antonio, TX), Primary at Graham Air Base(Marianna, FL), and Basic at Laredo Air Force Base (Laredo, TX) where he Graduated with a Commission and got his Wings in 1955. In July 1955 he married Verlie Faye DUCE and started his Air Force Career. He went to Stead AFB (Reno, NV) for Survivor Training and then to B-29 Training at Randolph AFB. After that he went to the 310th Bomb Wing (Smokey Hill AFB )(Now Schilling AFB)in Salina, KS For Training at McConnell AFB B-47 (Wichita, KS)Training. After training he became a Pilot in the 379th &380th Bomb Wing and Became a Select Crew member. In 1959 the crew went to the SAC Bombing Competition and placed second in all of SAC. In 1960 The Crew went to the Bombing Competition again and placed in the top three Crews. In 1960 he upgraded to Aircraft Commander and had his own crew. In 1963 he transferred in to the 5th Bomb wing as a Tanker Pilot at 916th Air Refueling Squadron, Travis AFB, then to Training at Castle AFB in Merced CA. Was first unit for Young Tiger refueling the fighters in Viet Nam earlier the Later at UTAPAO & TAKLI ,Thailand.
Refueling the fighters going DOWNTOWN at Hanoi. In 1968 he became a Command Post Officer in the Command Post until he Retired in March 28th 1970(20years and 28 Days), When he retired he became a MONY Insurance agent for a year then went into the Real Estate Business as an agent then he upgraded to a Broker in 1972 and Opened his own office as Creely Realtors; since then have been an Insurance Agency Operator, been an Appraiser, Manager of Several Properties and owner of Other Property. He joined the Civitan Club in 1972, was the Secretary 73-74 and the President in 74-75 and was a member. He managed 8 units & Consult on my Daughters & Wives Partnership in the Corpus Christi Event Center.

Survived by my wife of 62 years Verlie Faye (Duce) Creely and my children Gene II (Audra), Kimberly Joe and Carol Annette, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
