Dear Karl, Karen, and other cousins,
I was so saddened to learn of Joanne's passing. She was a favorite of mine. Joanne encouraged me to join the Daughters of the America Revolution allowing me to use the same patriot that she had used when she entered. She was always willing to answer my questions as I went through the process.
Joanne was my contact to my Dad's side of the family. I remember meeting her at the Shackelford ranch near El Campo when I was a young woman. Later, I got to know her when visiting Aunt Monte. I will miss having contact with Joanne...she was a joy to know and a cousin with whom I found commonality.
I'm sorry that I can't be with you at the funeral. Please know that my prayers are with you during this time of loss.
