Larry August Dawe, age 62, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 13, 2017 with his family by his side.
He was born on November 29, 1954 to Billy Wayland and Oveta Nell (Floerke) Dawe in Corpus Christi, TX.
Larry was an outgoing person with a generous heart, loved boats, motorcycles, and fishing. His passion was being a servant of God. He was a member of the Millennium Messengers and the Patriot Guard. Under the tutelage of pastor Zumalt in the Tribe of Judah, he witnessed and evangelized. He never passed up an opportunity to share his love of God by giving his jacket to one who didn’t have one, paying for food and/or meals for those in need, meeting people for the first time and witnessing/ministering to them. He also loved children and enjoyed playing with them. Larry’s favorite Bible verse is John 11:35, “Jesus Wept.” He graduated from TSTI in Waco, TX with an A.A.S. in Biomedical Technology. He was certified in avionics maintenance and was licensed and certified in Dual Rating Aquatic Vessel. He also was certified for open water diving.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Peggy Sue, of Corpus Christi, TX; step-daughter, Morgan Taylor of Oceano, CA; step-daughter Christina Morris of Columbus Grove, OH; grandchildren, Jonathan Eaker of TX, Michael Trebesch of CO, Chloe Morris of Columbus Grove, OH, and Kaylen Hanslik of Lima, OH; his loving mother, Oveta F. Dawe of Corpus Christi, TX and one sister, Oveta Nell (Richard) Pratt of Corpus Christi, TX; nephews Eric (Jodi) Pratt of Rush Spring, OK, Michael (Brandi) Pratt of Mathis, TX, Kevin Pratt of Corpus Christi, TX, and grand-nieces, Harley and Ryleah Pratt of Rush Springs, OK.
He is pre-deceased by his father, Billy W. Dawe; paternal grandparents, Lawrence B. and Virginia K. Dawe; maternal grandparents, August Floerke, Christopher “Buddy” and Vernie Warbington; and step-son, Rusty Hanslik.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel at 4357 Ocean Dr. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Seaside Memorial Park. Reception will follow at Padre Island Baptist Church at 14253 S. Padre Island Dr.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
