Margaret Mikels Fitzgerald, also known as “Maggie”, passed away on March 21, at the age of 84. She was born to Denni and Iva Mikels on December 18, 1932 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Maggie spent her entire life living in CC, Tx. where she met the love of her life Dr. James (Jim) Fitzgerald. Although she lived in a small town, that never stopped Maggie from traveling the world and back again. After her husband passed, Maggie spent the rest of her life staying active with her Catholic faith. She served as Administrative Assistant to Monsignor Leonard Pivonka and the Corpus Christi Cathedral for 30 years.
Maggie served as a past president of the Nueces County Medical Society.
Maggie passed very peacefully in her home overlooking her beautiful view of the bay as she had planned.
She is survived by her 4 children, Mikel Fitzgerald, Karen (Tony) Townsend, Mary Fitzgerald Sibley, Tony Fitzgerald and 7 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 6-9pm at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Corpus Christi Cathedral.
